Work ?

The high-energy intensity and focused UVC rays produced by ZeCo UVC Chamber damage DNA and RNA via cross-linking of thymidine and uracil nucleotides, respectively, thus preventing the replication of microbes such as bacteria and viruses. At these wavelengths, the amount of pathogen inactivation is directly proportional to the dose of UV radiation, with dosage being defined as the product of intensity (W/m2) and exposure duration, Therefore, ZeCo UVC Chamber is a relatively simple method of disinfection that causes minimal damage to the respirator and avoids the use of irritating chemicals.

Ultraviolet germicidal disinfection has been done by using the ultraviolet(UV) energy (electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light ) to kill or inactivate viral , bacterial and fungal species . The UV spectrum is commonly divided into UVA ( wavelengths of 400nm to 315 nm) , UVB (315nm to 280nm) and UVC (280nm to 200nm).The entire UV spectrum can kill or inactivate many microorganisms , but UVC energy provides the best germicidal effect with 260 nm being the optimum wavelength. SARS-CoV-2, the single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) virus that causes COVID-19, the UV dose required to inactivate 90% of ssRNA viruses is an estimated 1.32−3.20 mJ cm−2. Similar methods using 254 nm UV-C light have been investigated with SARSCoV-1.
