The L78 series comprises three-terminal positive regulators housed in TO-220. These regulators offer on-card regulation, resolving distribution issues linked to single-point regulation. Featuring internal current limiting, thermal shut-down, and safe area protection, they are virtually indestructible. With sufficient heat sinking, they can deliver over 1 A output current. While primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can also be configured with external components to achieve adjustable voltage and currents.
